Saving Lives with Medicine

The objective of this project is to make an impact on the lives of uninsured/underinsured low-income local community members by providing access to essential medicine and health supplies.  We will help approximately 872 people with the supplies provided.  The three area Rotary clubs, St Simons, Golden Isles and Jekyll provided funding in the amount of $4405.00 to meet these community needs.

This project will provide free medicine and health supplies to the Coastal Community Health Services Clinic to improve health outcomes among uninsured and underinsured people living in high-need areas.

Many Rotarians are volunteers at MAP International on an ongoing basis. The free clinic that we will be supplying was founded by a current St Simons Island Club Rotarian.  Many people are in need of these services and will go without taking their medications without this Clinic being available to them.

Nine Rotarians were on hand to learn about and tour the clinic on Wednesday May 15th.  We learned that Coastal Community Health Services Clinic provides needed services for the community.  They are partnering with other area facilities to help meet the needs in the area.
