Andrew Leanza began his public safety career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer, narcotics agent, and sheriff’s deputy before transitioning to emergency management in 2013 as Director of the Montgomery County EMA. He went on to serve as a GEMA Field Coordinator and later as Director of Columbia County EMA, where he led planning, response, and recovery efforts for hurricanes, tornadoes, and flooding. A Certified Advanced Emergency Manager, Andrew is also an instructor for GEMA/HS and holds numerous certifications in both law enforcement and emergency management. In 2022, he was appointed Director of Glynn County EMA/Homeland Security, where he continues to lead with a strong commitment to public safety and community resilience.
